Constitution and Establishment The National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) was established through The National Commission for Homoeopathy Act, 2020 (No. 15 of 2020), enacted by the Parliament. This act came into force on 05.07.2021, as per the Gazette notification dated 05.07.2021.
Aims and Objectives of NCH:-
The NCH has been formed with the following aims and objectives:
- Improving Access to Quality and Affordable Medical Education:-The NCH aims to enhance access to high-quality and affordable medical education in Homoeopathy. It strives to ensure that aspiring students have the opportunity to receive education in this field.
- Ensuring Availability of Qualified Homoeopathy Medical Professionals:- To address the shortage of qualified Homoeopathy medical professionals across the country, the NCH is dedicated to ensuring the availability of an adequate number of highly skilled and qualified practitioners.
- Promoting Equitable and Universal Healthcare:- The NCH promotes equitable and universal healthcare, emphasizing the community health perspective. It strives to make the services of Homoeopathy medical professionals accessible and affordable for all citizens, regardless of their background or location.
- Contributing to National Health Goals:- The commission aims to actively contribute to national health goals by aligning its efforts with the broader healthcare initiatives and strategies of the country.
- Encouraging Adoption of Latest Medical Research:- The NCH encourages Homoeopathy medical professionals to stay updated with the latest medical research and incorporate it into their practice. It promotes a culture of continuous learning and contributions to research in the field.
- Ensuring Objective Evaluation of Medical Institutions:- The NCH has the responsibility to periodically assess medical institutions objectively and transparently. This evaluation process helps maintain and improve the quality of education and healthcare services provided by these institutions.
- Maintaining a Homoeopathy Medical Register for India:- The NCH maintains a comprehensive register of Homoeopathy medical professionals in India. This register serves as a reliable database of qualified practitioners, ensuring public safety and facilitating effective regulation of the profession.
- Enforcing High Ethical Standards:- The NCH enforces high ethical standards in all aspects of medical services provided by Homoeopathy professionals. It promotes integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct among practitioners, fostering trust and accountability in the healthcare system.
- Establishing an Effective Grievance Redressal Mechanism:- To address complaints and grievances related to Homoeopathy medical services, the NCH has implemented an effective grievance redressal mechanism. This mechanism ensures that issues are promptly and fairly resolved, safeguarding the interests of patients and healthcare providers.
Uniform Post-Graduate National Entrance Test Under Section 16 of the NCH Act 2020, the NCH governs the conduction of a uniform Post-Graduate National Entrance Test. This entrance test is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses in Homoeopathy across all medical institutions in the country. The NCH ensures standardized and fair selection procedures for these courses.
